The current school on the site doesn’t match the current needs for comfort anymore and will be redeveloped. This is the moment to redefine the site and combine new housing with the new school. Six houses for young families will be realized next to the new school building. The site defines the border between the existing living neighborhood and the green park around Ronsevaal Castle and the nature resort the Gerstjens. It is the goal to integrate the new housing and the school in the existing neighborhood. The playground becomes the new neighborhood square, hosting activities for the school and for the people living around. Also the school building will act as a neighborhood center outside school hours. This ambition defines special conditions for the new school building and for the playground and public space. The height difference is considerable and offers dwellers a fantastic view over the green surroundings.
