The role of architect/project leader carries a high degree of independence. The main focus is on the design and further development of the conceptual design of multiple projects in terms of form and technical elaboration. In this and subsequent phases, you will also serve as the point of contact, alongside one of the partners, for external parties. Internally, you will organize the team and collaborate closely with your colleagues. It is important to us that you speak and write Dutch, that you are a team leader, and that you can present a portfolio that convincingly demonstrates your leadership, knowledge, skills, and sufficient experience to take on the role of project leader.

Woonwerk is a medium-sized design firm involved in the realization of complex projects in the existing urban environment. Curious, investigative, and highly socially driven, we work as a close-knit team in an open working atmosphere on a large number of diverse projects at different scales. Through challenging concepts, we explore the tension between vision and reality through architectural and urban design. Woonwerk is currently working on a number of large residential construction projects. Comfortable living in a healthy environment in sustainable buildings, in an attractive neighborhood, is at the heart of what we do. We work on strategic projects that contribute to a caring society where the resident or user comes first.

• A talented designer with a completed Master’s degree from a University of Technology or Academy of Architecture;
• Proficiency in the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
• Preferably several years of experience in a project manager role in the Netherlands, including larger residential construction projects, healthcare or elderly housing;
• Strongly developed design skills, and a creative and analytical design approach;
• Conceptual thinking ability and extensive experience with regulations, building technology, detailing and construction;
• Experience operating independently across all project phases through to construction;
• A critical attitude, a personal vision, and organizational talent;
• Proactive, hands-on, communicatively skilled, and an inspiring team player;
• Able to shape and present a project in a convincing manner;
• Excellent command of relevant software (Archicad, Adobe, Office);

• A one-year contract (40 hours) with the prospect of a permanent position in due course, a market-competitive salary in line with the job grading of the Collective Labor Agreement for architectural firms;
