Feasibility study & development plan for southern canal district

At first sight, Apeldoorn’s Southern Canal District seems to be a wasteland, but look closer and you will see a beautiful 19th century canal with authentic buildings and spaces. This industrial heritage forms the basis for a new adventurous urban environment that enriches the city of Apeldoorn. Starting from the adaptive reuse of the industrial buildings and the presence of the water, a development plan was designed with respect for the scale of the former factories and the canal and representing the roughness of the place.
